General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University (KDU) is one of the leading academic institutes which is mainly focused on higher education on Sri Lankan military services.General Sir John Kotelawala former Prime Minister of Ceylon donate this 48 acre land for this academy. This institute is the only university offering graduate courses in defense studies in the South Asian region. KDU founded in late 80s decade and they are offering so many degrees under different areas of fields such as Law, Management, Social Science, It, Medicine and Engineering. Sir John Kotelawala Defense University was raised to let level of Sri Lankan university in the year of 1986.
Kotelawala Defense University (KDU)conduct 4 Years LLB Degree programme under officer Cadette at Sri lankan military service as well as Non Military / Fee Levying Students. Non Military Student must pay money for follow4 Years LLB Degree programme and there are no commitment after follow this degree . But officer Cadette must work allocated period of time after complete LLB Degree tat Kothelawala Defense University.According to website of KDU those who interest in to follow 4 Years LLB Degree on Fee leaving the cost would be 850,000 Sri Lankan Rupees .You can also become lawyer at enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law by the Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka by completing some exams which conducted by Law College Sri Lanka after completing this 4 Years LLB Degree.

Be a citizen of Sri Lanka
Be Between 18-30 years of age
A candidate should have Pass three subjects at the G.C.E (A/L) Examination held under the new scheme and obtained
Eligibility Requirement for Bachelor’s Law Degree Programmes for Officer Cadet
- Being a citizen of Sri Lanka
- Being Unmarried
- Being not less than 18 or not more than 22 years of age on the closing date announced by the University.
- Being eligible for University admission as pronounced by the Commissioner General of Examinations and the fulfillment of the following requirements;
- A candidate should have offered three subjects at the G.C.E (A/L) Examination held under the new scheme and obtained,
- At least an ‘S’ grade for all three subjects.
- A pass in the Common General Test and be eligible for University admission.
- A minimum of a Credit Pass in English at the G.C.E (O/L) Examination.
