The Sri Lanka Institute of Taxation is a professional body for the proffessionals who are in Tax industry of Sri Lanka. THis institute is the only institute which conducting professional course under taxaiton in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Institue of taxation was eztablsiehd in the year of 1992 by focussing on promoting taxation related activitis in Sri Lanka and this institue was incoporated by parliment act in the yer of 2000. This institute is also conducted professional coursese to become tax professionals in Sri Lanka. The Main purspose of this study programme is parth to get enroll with the membership of the Institute. The member of Sri Lanka instiute of taxation is eligible to practice taxation as an authorized representative on behalf of tax-payer under section of 217 of the Inland Revenue Act No 10 of 2006.
Most of the Study programmes conducted by this institiute are conducted on weekends and main purpose of this is those who are alredy on jobs can also do these cousre witout any trouble. The Study programme of thes professional tax course divide in to two stages such as.

Diploma Levle Study Programme
Course Duration : 6 Months
Medium of Study : English
Venue : Sri Lanka Institue of Taxation
Entry Qualifications :
- Pass 3 subjects of G.C.E Advanced Level on one sitting at any stream
- Any qualifications which equalent to minimum qualifications.
- Applicant over 25 years and who got 5 years of tax related experience in reputed organization.
Diploma level consist of five exam papers and after compltion of this dilploma levle student are elegible to go for the Professional Level.
Porfessional Level Study Programme
Course Duration : 6 Months
Medium of Study : English

Entry Qualifications :
- Student who are sucessfully complted Diploma Level course at Sri Lanka Institute of Taxation
Professional Levle study programm are also include four examps papers and case study.
Sri Lanka Institue of Taxation Membership
Those who sucessfully compleated the Intermediate and final study programme which conducted by this institute will be eledible to become Assocate Memmbership of the institute. The person who are the assocate member of this institue cal alsu use the letters ATII (Sri Lanka) for their name. The persona who has been assocate member for five years can apply for Fellow Member
