How to Become Aircraft Maintenance Engineer In Sri Lanka

By | August 9, 2023

Aircraft Maintenance EngineerIt is the job of an airplane maintenance Engineer to ensure that the Airframe and the Engines of the aircraft are properly maintained and repaired. They also learn how to test them to ensure that they are functioning correctly. They are an integral part of the maintenance crew and play a significant part in ensuring that the aircraft is always “airworthy.” The Aircraft Maintenance Education (AME) program that is being run by CINEC is based on the course syllabus established by “EASA” (European Aviation Safety Agency). This course has been given complete approval by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), and it can lead to an Aircraft Maintenance (Engineers) License. In order to obtain this license, the CAASL requires four years of training and experience that are relevant to the field, followed by successful completion of the AML test that is administered by the CAASL. On the other hand, if you complete the two-year AME program at CINEC, you will simply need to demonstrate an extra two years of On-The-Job-Training (OJT) job experience with an airline or aircraft operator that has been approved. After that, you would be able to find employment at an airline and finish your “type training” on an aircraft (for example, an Airbus A320) in order to become a fully qualified “Type Rated” Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

At the moment, job placements for CINEC students have been guaranteed by Air Seychelles, which is associated with Etihad Airways.
