Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)
The Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs has authorized the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree as one of the best yet most affordable IT programs in Sri Lanka. The program improves students’ technical skills in computers, programming, and design while also developing the skill set required to become an adaptable computing professional.
With a strong emphasis on employability and close linkages to industry, the student can develop the required technical skills. Students will also develop critical professional skills, as well as a solid awareness of the ethical and legal context in which all software engineers will operate. Entrance Requirements:
- Three simple passes (S) in the Commerce Stream of the GCE (Advanced Level) Exam administered by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka, or an equivalent qualification.
- Three simple passes (S) in any academic stream in one sitting just at GCE (Advanced Level) Examination administered by the Department for Examinations of Sri Lanka, with the bridging course recognized by the Specified Authority.
